Statement from the Agricultural Institute of Canada on Civic Hospital site recommendation
Earlier today, the National Capital Commission (NCC) announced the selection of Tunney’s Pasture as the recommended site for the new Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.
Serge Buy, CEO of the Agricultural Institute of Canada (AIC) issued the following statement:
“It was important that the broader community, including scientists, had an opportunity to weigh in on the future site of the Civic Hospital as it such a significant development that will impact us for decades to come.
“The previous process to select the Experimental Farm property was simply flawed and could not have resulted in a good decision.
“Generally, we are pleased with how this process has unfolded and that the new site being recommended today to the federal government helps confirm a commitment to science and agriculture.”
