The Board of Directors of the Agri-Food Innovation Council met and elected its Vice Chair (Dr. Wilf Keller), Treasurer (Peter Henderson) and Secretary (Dr. Rita Sterne). The Board also discussed various activities and plans for the upcoming year.
AIC is pleased to note that Dr. Lianne Dwyer was elected as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Agri-Food Innovation Council. Following the Special Members Meeting, a new Board of Directors was selected. The new Board includes familiar AIC figures such as Dr. Lianne Dwyer (chair, 2012-2017) and Dr. Wilf Keller (chair, 2017-2020). Other directors were selected.
Members of AIC in attendance during the Special Members Meeting of September 27 voted in favour of strengthening the organization and look for new pathways to sustainability. Attendees heard from members of the Board, members and the CEO.
AIC’s CEO, Serge Buy, presented at the House of Commons Standing Committee on Science and Research in Ottawa. The discussion, on intellectual property, also touched upon the need for a better coordination of efforts at the national level.
Speakers, panelists and attendees made the 2023 AIC Spring Engagement Session a resounding success. Discussions on adoption, climate change, increased productivity and funding were held through the packed two days.
