AIC Liability Insurance Program
Smith Petrie Carr and Scott Insurance Brokers Ltd. have been appointed as your broker for the group liability insurance program sponsored by the Agri-Food Innovation Council. We are pleased to offer Professional Liability Insurance and Commercial General Liability Insurance with coverages and premiums that are exclusive to AIC members in good standing with the AIC.
Professional Liability Insurance
Professional Liability Insurance protects organizations and individuals from claims arising from the delivery of your professional services as a Professional Agrologist or Certified Crop Advisor. You may be held liable if a client claims financial loss due to an error or omission on your part. The insurance also pays for legal defense costs incurred in dealing with the allegations of the third party, even if the allegations are groundless.
Commercial General Liability Insurance
General Liability Insurance offers protection for your business against claims made by third parties for bodily injury and property damage arising from your premises, operations and products.
Pollution Coverage
Pollution coverage under the program is limited to consulting and/or land assessment services only.
Operations outside the program can be insured through Smith Petrie Carr and Scott on a separate policy. Please contact us directly for more details.
International Coverage
The program extends to give you worldwide coverage provided that suit is first brought against you within a Canadian legal jurisdiction.

Trisura Legal Assistance Hotline
Your Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company policy includes access to unlimited legal advice. Trisura’s Hotline can provide invaluable assistance for policyholders who are attempting to navigate the legal system and control such expenses. When a call is placed to our Hotline, our policyholders are quickly connected to lawyers who provide crucial information and clear next steps, free of charge. If you have any questions that require the assistance of a lawyer, the Hotline is available from 8:00 a.m. to midnight (local time), seven days per week: 1-866-945-5207. Please have your policy number ready so that you can be quickly confirmed as a Trisura policy holder.

How Can I Apply?
To apply for your insurance, please complete one of the applications below and submit it to Smith Petrie Carr and Scott by email, fax or mail. Payment can be made in full by cheque, Visa or MasterCard. Simplified payment instructions will follow by e-mail with the Certificate of Insurance and Invoice, after receipt and acceptance of the Trisura Application Form.
