National Plant and Animal Health Strategy – Planning Forum
A national plant and animal health planning forum will be held on December 6 and 7, 2016 in Ottawa, ON. This is an opportunity for anyone who plays a role in plant and animal health to come together to collaborate on the future of plant and animal health in Canada.
The objective of the planning forum is to prioritize and plan key actions that will enhance plant and animal health in Canada.
The planning forum will include:
- An outline of the national plant and animal health strategy for discussion
- Break-out/plenary sessions/workshops to identify, plan and prioritize actions
- Networking opportunities
The forum will solidify the direction of the national plant and animal health strategy. The draft strategy with prioritized actions will be refined by all stakeholders throughout winter and spring 2017 for presentation to FPT agriculture ministers in July 2017.
Read the proposed agenda.
Who should attend? Plant and animal health stakeholders in Canada interested in participating in discussions to shape the future of plant and animal health in Canada. For example: industry associations, producers, academia, non-government associations, and representatives from federal, provincial, territorial and municipal governments.
Share your ideas: a discussion document has been drafted to gather feedback on key elements of the plant and animal health strategy. Read the discussion document and provide your input. Early feedback will be considered as part of the discussions at the December planning forum.
