Growing the AgriWorkforce: The Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food Workforce Summit
This summit is designed for members of agricultural associations, industry commodity groups, farm employers, primary production agriculture and agri-food processing decision makers, representatives of provincial and federal governments and educational institutions. During the conference participants will: discuss agricultural labour issues of concern to farm employers, including finding and keeping domestic workers, and using temporary foreign worker programs; release the final results of its Labour Market Information project, including forecasts of agricultural labour demand and supply (these findings will discuss how many people we will need to work in agriculture industry in the next 10 years and what we will need to do to obtain the workers to meet demand); (and) show how new labour support tools, such as an online job matching tool or new training programs, can help farm employers find and keep workers.
